             Frequently Asked Questions

Does insurance cover any of the treatment?

Insurance usually covers at 70% if we use a diagnosis of "Headaches" and AVOID the diagnosis of "TMJ". (After all the TMJ Pain is a Pain in your Head.) This keeps the coverage under Major Medical and Chiropractic instead of under Dental insurance.

What does it feel like?

Advanced CNS Restoration is the only part that is really uncomfortable. I place a little instrument with a balloon in your nose and put air into it for two seconds. It looks similar to an instrument used in angioplasty. The air in the balloon will move the cartilage and bones (turbinates) into their correct position. Half of the people that I work with say that it feels like they jumped into the pool and got water up their nose (uncomfortable but not a big deal).

The other half say that it feels like very intense pressure and hurts for the two seconds. They even hear the cartilage and small bones (turbinates) in the nose move and say that is sounds like velcro being pulled. (very uncomfortable but tolerable because it is only for 2 seconds).

Are you a Dentist or an Oral Surgeon?

I am not a dentist or an oral surgeon. I do not do surgery! I am a chiropractor with special training in "Advanced CNS Restoration ".

How fast will I see Results?

Correcting your Muscle Spasms and TMJ would be a PROCESS...not an overnight cure as I'm sure that you are aware. I tell every one that They Will Not LIKE The Treatment But That They Will LOVE The Results. Half of the patients will see results in two series of treatments spaced out over 2 months. The other half is slow and steady progress over a six month period. There will be some ups and downs during the process.

Is there any Guarantee?

My intention is to help heal as many patients as I can with Advanced CNS Restoration. Although I have had remarkable success with very difficult cases using Advanced CNS Restoration, I cannot make any guarantees. Each patient and each situation is different.  We have a 80% success rate correcting TMJ within six months. About 20% of the patients take up to twelve months to reach Maximum Medical Improvement.

How soon can I get in?

We usually have about 6-8 TMJ patients per week that we work with and we could handle about 10 per week so getting in with about a week or two notice is USUALLY no problem.

However, at this time, there are no other doctors in the world who have specialized in TMJ who are using the combination of five techniques including Advanced CNS Restoration that I use. I have found that if I use

1.Nimmo Technique,

2.Cranial Sutural Spread,

3. Bowen (Neuro Structural Integration Technique),

4.and  Crane Condyle lift (levels one and two)

5.along with the Advanced CNS Restoration that I get faster and longer lasting results.

So far I am the only doctor who has specialized in TMJ who is using these five techniques. They work together very well and the results last.

Where are you located?

Our clinic is in Denver, Colorado and is the only TMJ Clinic in the United States that uses these five techniques.

How much does it cost?

The cost of treatment will vary according to the number of skull plates that are locked up. The USUAL length of time (for 7 out of 10 patients) needed for correction of TMJ is one four day series of treatments for each one of the six major skull plates that are "locked up". Some patients (3 out of 10) may need more time especially if they have had severe injuries to the tail bone which results in scar tissue or if they have other complicating conditions such as Sleep Apnea.

Call me at 1-877-499-5033 or 720-200-9317 (Denver, Colorado) or E-mail me at info@drmccarty.com  with specific questions as to price, family discounts, and specific medical conditions as relates to your case.

How can I schedule an appointment?

Call me at 1-877-499-5033 or 720-200-9317

If you continue to treat TMJ with the usual medical/dental approach, then you will get the usual poor results. My approach using Advanced CNS Restoration is quite different because I focus on correcting the temporal bone and not the mandible.      Dr. Jim McCarty, D.C.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you. If you have any specific questions, you can e-mail me or call 1-877-499-5033 Toll Free

Sincerely,

Dr. Jim McCarty, D.C.
