Dyslexia

Many people with dyslexia have suffered needlessly through 10-20-30-40 years of difficulty in learning, low job pay, low self esteem, and ridicule due to their condition.

Many children with dyslexia are unable to read and remember. They say that the page of the book seems to be jumping from side to side and the letters are upside down and backward.

I Am a Chiropractor. I am not an MD or a surgeon.

Quite by accident, I found a therapy that is helping to correct Dyslexia. In 1996 two patients brought me an article to read about a doctor in Seattle who was using a specific type of cranial therapy. They wanted the treatment for themselves but the doctor in Seattle had a year waiting list.

Because the doctor in Seattle was unable to physically treat all of the patients who wanted his treatment, he agreed to begin training other doctors. I read the article and threw it aside because of the "wild claims" that were being made. This doctor claimed that his technique was helping everything from head to toe.

About a month later, the patients again asked me if I had read the article and what I thought about it. I told them that I thought that it was a lot of "baloney".

When asked why I felt so strongly against this treatment, I replied that "If this therapy works so well then why aren't more doctors doing it?" I also stated that, "The article made some pretty wild claims and that no one treatment was a panacea that helped everything."

The patients then reminded me that they thought that the treatment would help them, the doctor had a year waiting list, and that they thought that if I learned the treatment that I could help them and later could help others that might want the therapy.

I re-read the article and pretended that half of it was not true. However if the other half were true, then I decided that I needed to go and find out for myself if it worked. Six months later, in the fall of 1996, I went to learn the technique.

All of the patients, that I met, who had already undergone part of their treatment seemed honest and had nothing monetarily to gain by sharing their stories. What they had to tell me caused me to have to re-think everything medical that I had been taught in anatomy and physiology classes.

When I returned to my office, I began using the treatment on a few select patients who had Migraine Headaches. Every one of them said that they could breath better and that the frequency and intensity of their headaches was diminishing.

My instructor, referred several patients to me because he could not see them for about a year.

Malcolm brown was 7 years old and had been labeled "Learning Disabled". He could speak three words (Yes, No, Uh-Huh). After four days of treatment (one series), Malcolm told his grandmother, "It's 7:15, do we have time to stop at MacDonald's on the way to soccer practice".

Malcolm and his Grandmother returned for more treatment about 6 months later (recommended return is 4 weeks) and brought his aunt Tanisha who was 21 years old. Tanisha had grown up with "Dyslexia". She graduated from High School and was enrolled in the University of Arkansas. She was studying to be a teacher. After her four days of treatment, Tanisha"s eyes did not bulge out as much and she stated that she could read her assignments and remember the material. The pages were not "jumping from side to side and the letters were not upside down and backward."

Another patient named Dan had been to the Best doctors that his parents could find as he was growing up for his "Dyslexia". No solution was found for him. His wife came to see me and Dan listened to the radio interview. Dan did NOT see immediate changes. Over about 4-6 months however, he noted that he seemed to be thinking faster. He began to read magazines and jokes for fun and also noted that he could now multiply numbers in his head and get the answers correct which was something that was impossible for him before.

The therapy that I use currently is called Advanced CNS Restoration.   With this procedure, dyslexia can be helped in as little as six months.

My intention is to help heal as many patients as I can. Although I have had remarkable success treating very difficult cases, I am not allowed to make guarantees. Each patient and each situation is different.

If you continue to treat Dyslexia with the traditional approach, then you will get traditional results. My approach is quite different and effective. Dr. Jim McCarty, D.C.
