Post Partum Depression Post partum depression is a very serious type of depression that occurs shortly after the birth of a child. It does not vanish easily and the typical medical doctor is just now becoming aware of this condition. It is so bad that many women commit suicide or kill their children. All motherly protection instincts seem to disappear.  The medical community has ignored this problem and pretended that it does not exist or that it will just go away by itself.
