There is hope for you and your Post Partum Depression.
Post Partum Depression occurs because of poor circulation to the brain causing low levels of brain neurotransmitters. During the childbirth process, the brain controls the muscles which allow for labor and delivery. Not only do the nerves from the brain control the dilation of the uterus, but the spinal fluid also plays a very important role.
The spinal fluid is "pumped" by the "cranio-sacral rhythm". This includes fascia within the brain that you have never heard of called the "tentorium cerebelli" and the "falx cerebri".
During labor, the skull plates go through an alternating process of "cranial flexion" and "cranial extension". This causes what is called "nutation" and "counter-nutation". Nutation is what moves the tailbone forward so that the baby can drop down into the birth canal. counter-nutation is the action of moving the tailbone out of the way so that the baby can move through the birth canal and be born.
When the bones of the skull become "subluxated" or stuck in inspiration or expiration; then the fascia called the falx cerebri and the tentorium cerebelli become too tight or overly loose.
During the last month of pregnancy, the brain kicks out hormones which allow the ligaments in the body to become lax. This especially affects the pelvic ligaments and the pelvic bones are allowed to widen. When labor is over, breastfeeding releases hormones that cause the pelvic ligaments begin to return to their normal tone; however, sometimes the skull plates remain in their locked up positions causing poor circulation to the brain and low levels of brain neurotransmitters. This collapse of the bones of the skull allows to brain to dehydrate.
The Post Partum Depression occurs because the brain and the pituitary gland are not getting enough blood supply and they become dehydrated. The pituitary gland is then not able to make enough hormones and neurotransmitters. This condition can be corrected by a therapy called CNSR.
There is NO NEED for you to be so depressed if you learn about this therapy and take some follow through action. Most of my patients begin to see results and begin to feel better with the first week, after 8 treatments.
Over 1/2 of my patients are from out of state and out of the country.
The initial exam will reveal how badly that your skull is locked up and how many series of treatments that you personally will need.
Depression is not new and there is a solution that works to give long term results. The Pituitary gland sits directly behind the bridge of the nose, even with your temples.
Medical doctors tend to tell patients that they just need to not take life so seriously or that it is all in your head and go to see the psychiatrist.
The problem is that the doctors are only using what they have been taught in school and are not up to date on the new research of what is working.
Doctors are ignoring the functional aspect of how we feel is directly related to mechanical structure of the skull and blood flow to the pituitary gland.
Research over the last 20 years has revealed that 90% of all Post Partum Depression is a result of poor circulation which is a direct result of collapse of the Sphenoid Bone.
The compressed Sphenoid bone cause the pituitary gland of the Brain to become Dehydrated. This causes Areas of High and Low Pressure within the Cerebro Spinal Fluid which causes poor blood flow throughout the brain.
The spinal fluid compresses the blood vessels causing loss of blood flow to the muscles of the jaw and face. This poor blood flow causes the brain to dehydrate and your brain works slower. This makes it harder to think and you begin to process information at a slower rate.
My experience indicates that the depression is just another symptom. I believe that the root cause is the "temporal bone and sphenoid bones" are compressed and out of their normal position. This affects the functioning of the pituitary gland and the frontal, parietal, temporal, and occipital lobes of the brain.
Removing the pressure off of the sphenoid and temporal bones will allow the temporal bones to rotate back to their original position.

Using this approach, I have a 80%-90% success rate over 6-12 months of getting rid of Post Partum Depression.
The fastest way to get long term relief from your depression and restore normal brain chemistry is a therapy called Neuro Cranial Restructuring. Once the abnormal pressure is removed off of the skull, then, normal brain chemistry can be maintained by diet and exercise.
I do not do surgery! I am not a dentist, oral surgeon, or psychiatrist. I am a chiropractor with special training on "Advanced Cranial Work".
The first day, I would examine your skull not with x-rays, CAT Scans, and MRIs, but with my hands and also with specific Neurologic Reflex tests that are designed to show me how fast your brain is reacting to gravity and how quickly the left side of your brain is talking to the right side of your brain.
The first portion of the examination will reveal how many and which of your sutures and skull plates are locked up in the wrong position and will give me an estimate of how many series that you need. These tests tell me which areas of YOUR brain are dryer than they should be and are causing pressure to build up inside the spinal fluid and are causing YOUR TMJ.
The points are:
1. Bridge of your nose where someone's glasses would sit.
2. Under your nose where your two front teeth come together.
3. Top of your head where the soft spot would be on a baby.
4. Back of the head where the second soft spot would be.
5. Behind the left ear where the temporal bone meets the occipital bone.
6. Behind the right ear where the temporal bone meets the occipital bone.
The second portion of the examination will test for 78 different treatment patterns that could be unstable. Each unstable treatment pattern requires 1 treatment to correct the unstable pattern. This gives us a better indication of how many individual treatments that will be required in order to correct your problem.
This examination shows me which Nerve Tracts of YOUR brain are dehydrated and are slowing brain function. It also shows me which head positions are causing the brain to feel unstable and are causing pressure to build up inside the spinal fluid and causing Your Depression.
The treatments are done in groups of four treatments which are referred to as one series.
This examination allows me to zero in on YOUR PROBLEM AREAS and AVOID OVER TREATMENT therefore Getting Quicker Results and Saving You Money.
This is all done by physical examination of the head. (No costly MRI or Cat Scan or X-rays) There are 78 individual patterns that must be checked and corrected.
Correcting your Muscle Spasms and Depression would be a PROCESS...not an overnight cure as I'm sure that you are aware.
After I examine your skull to find out how many of the skull plates are compressed, then we begin treatment.

After I examine your skull to find out how many of the skull plates are compressed, then we begin treatment.
First I do the deep muscle work, then the light muscle work from Australia, then the massage of the skull plates along the sutures, then I remove pressure on the brain stem, and finally I place a little instrument with a balloon in your nose and put air into it for three seconds. The air in the balloon will move the bones (incrementally) into their correct position.
Half of the people that I work with say that it feels like they jumped into the pool and got water up their nose (uncomfortable but not a big deal). The other half say that it feels like very intense pressure and hurts for 2-3 seconds. They even hear the cartilage and small bones in the nose move and say that is sounds like Velcro being pulled apart (very uncomfortable but tolerable because it is only for 3 seconds).
I tell patients that They Will Not "LIKE" The Treatment But That They Will "LOVE" The Results.
Each series of treatments is four days and the treatments are normally scheduled about a month apart. Each patient is different and in certain circumstances the treatments should be done closer together (such as 8 treatments in 4 days).
Treatments last about 1 hour to 1 hours in the beginning and about 45 minutes as treatment progresses. I actually spend about 30 minutes with the patient. With patients who are from out of state many times we will do two series "back to back".
In other words, eight treatments in eight days or compress it into eight treatments in four days. Then we usually wait three to four weeks before doing more therapy in order to allow the spinal fluid to begin to do its work. During this time, the brain and the pituitary will begin to rehydrate and function normally again. When this occurs, the depression lifts and you can return to being normal and happy!
Insurance usually covers at 60%-70% if we use a diagnosis of "Headaches" and AVOID the diagnosis of "Depression". This keeps the coverage under Major Medical and Chiropractic.
We usually have about 8 patients per week that we work with and we could handle about 10-12 per week so getting in with about a week or two notice is USUALLY no problem but some weeks are booked more solid than others.
During the last seven years, I have combined Five Major and Three minor different "non-surgical" therapies that are completely curing the Depression for 80% of the patients within six months.
20% of the patients are requiring 12 months of therapy because of extenuating circumstances such as scarring and dehydration within the Central Nervous System (Brain and Spinal Cord) from severe tailbone injuries or from severe viral infections in the past.
About "1 out of 20" people have a slight nosebleed. They blow their nose 2-3 times and it stops. About "1 out of 100" will have more of a nose bleed and we then have to use smaller balloons and "baby" them a bit. [This may extend the average length of treatment to longer than six months as we allow the blood vessels time to rehydrate.]
For some people, Emotional trauma from past experiences may occasionally surface during the treatment and this can extend the original estimation of length of treatment.
As I unlock the skull bones and remove the pressure on the brain, the circulation to the brain is increased and your memory will improve. About "1 out of 50" people have old memories that contain old emotional issues that were suppressed. If you are one of these people who has suffered a lot of victim abuse then your subconscious will process this old emotional trauma usually in one week or less. Then you will feel much lighter but you may have a good cry during that day or two while your brain processes the old emotional baggage.

For the majority of people we are able to restore the proper flow of the spinal fluid and get rid of the Depression in six months. After this, diet and exercise will usually maintain normal brain chemistry.
There are no other doctors in the world who are using the combination of techniques that I use. I have found that if I combine five major and three minor different techniques that I get faster and longer lasting results.
So far I am the only doctor who has specialized in Depression who is using these EIGHT techniques. They work together very well and the results last.
1. Nimmo Technique-deep muscle work along the spine developed by Dr. Ray Nimmo, a chiropractor, which breaks up lactic acid in the muscles and increases blood flow and oxygen thereby helping the muscles to relax.
2. Bowen (Neuro Structural Integration Technique)-Very light muscle work designed to relax the muscles of the spine, neck, and face even further so that they do not pull the bones back out of place. The Bowen work has its own protocol for helping the TMJ.. Developed by Tom Bowen of Australia who was an osteopathic type of therapist.
3. Cranial Sutural Spread- regular cranial work that feels like I am massaging the scalp where the bones of the skull come together. This promotes the flow of the cerebro spinal fluid in and around the brain.
4. Crane Condyle Lift ( gentle levels one and two)-developed by three generations of chiropractors in the Crane family. It is designed to remove pressure off of the brain stem and TURN THE POWER BACK ON TO YOUR BRAIN. Dr. Virgil Crane is now retired.
5. Cranial Lift-very gentle lifting of the head with patient laying face up with light pressure laterally on the underside of the skull to increase blood flow to the brain by relaxing spasms in the "Vertebro/Basilar Artery" which supplies blood to the brain.
6. Reset jaw muscle (Masseter) spindle fibers-very gentle massage of the major jaw muscles that allow you to chew.
7. CNSR-Central Nervous System Restoration-uses a small instrument that looks like what is used for "angioplasty". It is a blood pressure cuff with a finger cot (small balloon) attached that is placed into the nose (turbinate bones) and inflated with air for about 2-5 seconds. The balloon then opens the cartilage at the back of the nose and allows you to breathe better. It also "begins the process" of restoring the subtle motion of the skull bones that is supposed to happen when you breathe air in. Recent research, done at my clinic in August 2004, has allowed for FINE TUNING of this Advanced Skull Work by checking for 78 treatment patterns. Each of the 78 different patterns that are unstable must be corrected .
8. Atlanto/Occipital Restoration-(Ligament Resetting)-light pressure applied behind the ear (bottom of the skull) and to the upper bone in the neck while rotating your head throughout its range of motion during inspiration and expiration to remove stress off of a VERY IMPORTANT ligament that acts like a guy wire to support the skull.
I have seen the Depression correct itself many times by the use of Nimmo, Bowen Therapy (Neuro Structural Therapy), Cranial Sutural Spread, Crane Condyle Lift, Atlanto/Occipital Restoration, Masseter Muscle Spindle Restoration and Central Nervous System Restoration which each have their own method of correcting the Depression.
The Soft tissue work is just as important as the NCR in correcting the underlying cause of the Depression.

The cost of treatment will vary according to the number of skull plates that are locked up and how many of the 78 treatment patterns that show to be unstable. The average length of time needed for 8 out of 10 patients is about 24-30 individual treatments or 6-7 series of four day treatments. 2 out of 10 patients need about 48 individual treatments or 12 series of four day treatments.
The exam is $250.00 and the first four days of treatment are $1,000.00. That includes the all four days of the Soft Tissue Work and all four days of the Neuro Cranial Restoration. Each additional 4 treatment series is $1,000.00.
The average scenario for 80% of the patients with Depression would be that all six major plates are locked and therefore six series of treatments would be needed. That would cost a total of $6,000.00 to $8,000.00 spread out over six months.
About 20% of the patients have extenuating circumstances that require 12 series.
Most of our patients get reimbursed 60% from their insurance companies. Each four day series is paid for when it is received.
At the end of the week of treatment, all patients who need an insurance form, will receive an insurance printout complete with diagnosis and codes. All codes are inputted as Chiropractic and Physical Therapy.
The cerebro Spinal Fluid acts like hydraulic fluid and once the compressed skull joints are unlocked then the spinal fluid begins to push the bones and cartilage into their proper position. They tend to stay in the right place unless you receive a new injury or if you have lots of stress.
It Is A Good Idea To Get Your Skull Checked 1-2 Times per Year (just like having your teeth cleaned) To Catch Any Problems Early Before They Have A Chance To Develop Into Major Health Problems.
[Once you have completed our program, then all re-exams are FREE to You AND Your Family. Be sure and ask about our FAMILY DISCOUNTS]
The sinuses and the skull plates shift with barometric pressure changes. Many Depression conditions flare up the day before it snows or rains.
It is the combination of these five major and three minor techniques that gives our clinic its high success rate. This means quicker pain relief and less money out of your pocket in the long run. The Soft Tissue Work allows the CNSR to correct the Depression quicker with less visits.
Our clinic is in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas and is the only Clinic in the United States that uses these EIGHT techniques. I am the ONLY doctor in the United States trained in all these therapies. We have a 80%-90% success rate in getting rid of Depression in six months. It Is Correctable!!!
The patients stay for 4 days and they do one series or two series of treatments (8 treatments) in four days. Each treatment lasts about one hour. I actually work on the patient about 30 minutes.
CNSR is not a panacea treatment that gets rid of every ache or pain from head to toe however it does address and normalize brain chemistry which controls all hormonal and body functions.

Central Nervous System Restoration-CNSR- helps to restore normal brain chemistry by removing the abnormal pressure of the skull that is compressing various lobes of the brain.
There are four lobes of the brain and each one makes a different type of brain chemical. The frontal lobe and the parietal lobes act like an accelerator to make the brain to work faster. The temporal lobes and the occipital lobe act like a brake to help the brain organize information and rest. Each lobe has a specific brain wave associated with it. [Alpha, Beta, Delta, Theta]
The frontal lobe makes a chemical called "dopamine". This makes the brain work faster and keeps you awake and alert. It also helps you to feel like you can overcome any obstacle or challenge in your life. This chemical can become depleted when people are under stress are not exercising. Cocaine use seriously depletes dopamine.
The parietal lobes make a chemical called "acetylcholine" which helps your memory and is how one nerve sends a nerve impulse to another nerve. Without enough acetylcholine the brain slows down. The left side of your brain cannot communicate fast enough with the right side of your brain. Acetylcholine is depleted if people take speed (amphetamines).
The temporal lobes make a chemical called GAMA AMINO BUTYRIC ACID. "G.A.B.A. helps you to deal with stress and balances the left and right hemispheres of the brain. Without enough of this chemical, your brain will feel like sparklers or firecrackers are going off inside the brain. This is the nerves of your brain not getting the proper message to the correct portion of your brain. Therefore your body does not respond when and how you want it to.
The occipital lobe makes serotonin which also helps us to rest and sleep along with sexual functioning. It also deals with stress, digestion, and ability to let your mind rest and not race.
Day to day stresses can "burn up" these chemicals faster than you can make them especially when the skull plates are "compressed".
We are finding that the work that I do to unlock the skull plates makes a direct improvement on brain chemistry.
There is a very good book written by an MD that is written in plain English for the non medically trained person. It is called "The Edge Effect" and it may give you other clues about things that you can do to improve your health problems.
Please see my videos on how I do this as well as video testimonials from my patients.
Please contact me and we'll talk about what is going on with you.
I look forward to speaking with you!

Notice: This notice is being included on this particular page because some members of the Enforcement Arm of the Chiropractic Board of Examiners have a limited understanding of Anatomy and Physiology. They believe that Chiropractors are not permitted to treat things such as "Post Partum Depression" or any kind of "Depression" for that matter.
This is probably because they are not a Doctor of Chiropractic but are a Retired Policeman. They quote the State Scope of Chiropractic Practice by stating that Chiropractors are allowed to Adjust or Manipulate the bones of the Human Spine to effect changes upon the Musculoskeletal System and therefore reduce pain. They say that if we Chiropractors want to treat organic conditions; then we need to lobby the State Representatives and change the law. The law however, is not the problem. It is putting someone in a position power who lacks knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the nervous system.
To be precise, I am NOT treating a diagnosis of Post Partum Depression. I am treating "Subluxation Complexes" of the face and head and spine that have a direct cause on the Depression. Finding and Fixing the "Subluxation Complexes is what I do well. That is all I do. I do not "cure" conditions. I remove the nerve pressure and the INNATE flow of nerve energy through the body does the healing.
The Nervous System works in two directions. Messages are sent from the organs toward the brain, sensory input, while at the same time messages are sent from the brain toward the organs, Motor input. Both sensory and motor input cause the muscles associated with subluxations to tighten and go into involuntary muscle spasms.
As a Chiropractor, my Scope of Practice and my focus is on treating all subluxations of the Human Body wherever I find them. I am a Chiropractor. The Scope of Practice includes examination, analyzation, evaluation, adjustment, and manipulation of the Musculo-Skeletal system and the Subluxation Complex in the human body.
The Musculo-skeletal system includes the bones, muscles, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, joints, and other connective tissue {such as the fascia}.
A subluxation complex is a neuro-musculo-skeletal condition that involves an aberrant relationship between two adjacent bones. This aberrant relationship consists of some form of compression and rotation between the two adjacent bones which may cause muscle spasms, structural pathology, functional pathology, or other abnormality of the system affecting balance, coordination, or muscle strength. It does this through the muscles, bones, nerves, and fascia. The role of the Chiropractor includes determining the existence of, the nature of, the severity of, the effects of, and the complicating factors that affect this musculo-skeletal system or subluxation complex. This includes determining the existence of structural pathology, functional pathology, and/or other abnormality of the system followed up by the treatment of those conditions so as to stabilize the function of the articulating bones-the subluxation complex.
Today’s educated consumer must do his/her due diligence and raise his/her level of understanding regarding their condition to a higher standard so that they can take responsibility for their health and well being.
The role of the Doctor of Chiropractic includes the Manipulation and Adjustment of those two adjacent bones which are either too close to each other or too far from each other, or rotated in their relationship to each other.
These subluxation complexes cause functional pathology through the nerves that are compressed. Those nerves go to the heart, the stomach, the liver, the gallbladder, and the kidneys, along with all other organs.
As a Chiropractor, the goal is to improve, correct, and optimize the biomechanical condition of the musculo-skeletal system/subluxation complex. This in turn improves, corrects, and optimizes the structure, function, and other abnormalities. This, thereby, of necessity, reduces muscle spasms and improves the coordination, balance, efficiency, strength, conditioning, and functional health and integrity of the system.
A Chiropractor is allowed to Examine, Diagnose, and Correct the aberrant motion that exists in these articulating bones of the Human body whether they be in the spine, pelvis, knee, ankle, foot, elbow, hands, or head. Just because someone, in a position of Enforcement, believes that Chiropractors mostly work to alleviate Low Back Pain caused by Subluxations of the Lumbar Spine; does not make that "belief" the Law of the State. Just because that person "believes" that the bones of the head do not move, does not make it so.
A Chiropractor is allowed to treat "ancillary" conditions that are affecting the musculo-skeletal subluxation, in order to stabilize that joint. Inflammation within the brain creates scar tissue which pulls on the bones of the head causing collapse of the bones of the face and head. Cranial Adjustment or Manipulation of those subluxations of those skull bones are within the Scope of Chiropractic.
In today’s world, potential Chiropractic patients are doing their homework and becoming as well informed as possible before choosing which type of provider to access for their care. Many potential Chiropractic patients have already visited their primary care provider and are looking for an alternative to the drug and surgery options.
Increasing your knowledge and understanding of Chiropractic is essential to avoid being misled and deceived by those health care providers, insurance providers, and government agencies who earn a living off of your fear and ignorance.
The time has come for each and every one of us, including the Enforcement Arm of the State Board, to stop being willfully ignorant and step up to a higher level of knowledge and understanding as to the role of Chiropractic medicine that is within the Scope of Chiropractic.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jim McCarty, D.C.

Submit the form below to find out your options on treating subluxations that are causing your Post Partum Depression. Above--> Down--> Inside--> Out.

Get this right and health occurs.
My intention is to help heal as many Post Partum Depression patients as I can. Although I have had remarkable success using “Central Nervous System Restoration®” to treat very difficult cases, I am not allowed to make guarantees. Each patient is unique and each situation is different. If you continue to treat Post Partum Depression with the traditional approach; then you will get traditional high failure rates. My approach is quite different and effective.
